Program Manager of Development and Marketing
ABOUT ALBANY COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP:
Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) is a source of direct support for families who live in poverty in Albany, New York. The majority of program participants are from economically vulnerable families with incomes below 75% of the federal poverty threshold (or $20,160 for a family of three - the average family size of ACAP’s customer population). For 50 years ACAP has been providing a network of programs which serve the needs of children and families living in poverty.
Our prominent programs include: Early Head Start, Head Start, Energy Assistance and Weatherization, Assets for Independence, Career Pathways, Healthcare Opportunities Grant, and we support parents through Employment and Dress for Success. Through its programs, ACAP has created positive change in the lives of children and families in Albany, Cohoes, Ravena and Watervliet. ACAP embodies the spirit of hope, improving communities and making the Capital Region a better place.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Manager of Development and Marketing is responsible for researching, developing and submitting effective grant applications that are based on program development plans. The Program Manager of Development and Marketing is responsible for leading and growing the development department and building the resources and increasing visibility of this fast-paced nonprofit organization through a variety of fund development and communications strategies.
Responsibilities include:
- Research, develop, write and submits effective grant applications based on program development plans to federal, state, local and foundation grant makers.
- Supports the Executive Director in community enterprise for new and expanded initiatives, ensuring that initiatives are consist with the strategic vision of the organization. Actively participating in program related development, design and planning of new initiatives
- Regularly identify grant and funding opportunities, conducting research to support development of the program. Manages data produced to ensure integration into grant opportunities and predicts program enhancements
- Provide support on renewal applications when needed while ensuring consistency with strategic goals. Create a schedule for new grant initiatives and grant renewal that is accessible by agency directors
- Manages aspects of the Agency outcomes systems, conducts analysis and system development that coincides with Agency initiatives, program developments
- Coordinate website content development and manage website maintenance
- Develop marketing materials and opportunities to increase agency visibility
- Prepare press releases about agency events and activities
- Coordinate annual report, brochure and other agency publications
- Implement strategies to build individual donor and major donor gifts
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. Experience in fund development and marketing strategies, Strong professional interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to represent the Agency proactively. Exceptional organization skills and the ability to integrate systems to create efficient and effective administrative tools for overseeing compliance with State and Federal grants and other regulatory requirements. Ability to manage outcome systems, analyze data and make recommendation based on it. Demonstrated understanding of public policy implications at the federal and state level, along with understanding the effects of poverty on children and their families.
