Director of Corporate and Continuing Education
Bellingham Technical College invites applications for one full-time, exempt (non-represented) professional position as Director of Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) and Work Based Education. Position is anticipated to begin about September 16, 2022. The position is overtime exempt from FLSA and is at-will. This position reports to the Dean of Professional Technical Education.
The Director of Corporate and Continuing Education and Work Based Education is responsible for overseeing and leading the direction of the College’s department that serves the business and manufacturing community’s need for customized business training, incumbent workforce education and professional continuing education units, non-credit community education programs, and work-based education opportunities. Position requires planning, developing, designing, delivering, and supervising the activities of the College’s contract training and professional education certificates and credentials and cultivating regional and local partnerships across business, industry and the community to ensure a responsive, state of the art training and professional development organization.
The position represents the College and Department of Instruction goals and interests in business development, curriculum, leadership, grant and contract proposal preparation, records management, and budget and space management, and will act as a primary liaison between the College and the business community. The position will interface with credit and non-credit programs when applicable for the creation and implementation of continuing education, business contract training, work-based education and internships.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, communication or related field is required; Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams across the organization; Experience developing and implementing business, contract, customized and grant-funded training and education; Experience supervising staff, with responsibility for recruiting, training, hiring and evaluation of instructors, staff and trainers; Experience designing, developing and delivering curriculum for courses, programs and/or customized contract training; Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Effective July 1, 2022, full-time salary is $7,700 per month; ($92,400 per year). Position also receives sick, personal and vacation leave accruals, paid state holidays, Washington State insurance and retirement benefits package, and some tuition waiver benefits.
