Electronics/Clean Energy Instructor
Bellingham Technical College is recruiting for a full-time Tenure Track Electronics/Clean Energy Instructor to begin September, 2018. Instructors are responsible to plan, teach, and manage student learning in all assigned portions of the program including classroom and lab according to approved course study, state guidelines, program accreditation standards, and advisory committee recommendations. This position requires working knowledge of digital circuitry, linear circuitry, photonics/wireless telecommunications, micro controllers, PLCs, C++, robotics, mechatronics and troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electronics technology, electrical engineering, or a closely related field;
- Minimum of two years full-time work experience, in electronics technology, electrical engineering or closely related industry;
- Teaching experience at a community or technical college or higher education institution;
- Working knowledge of digital circuitry, linear circuitry, photonics/wireless telecommunications, micro controllers, PLCs, C++, robotics, mechatronics and troubleshooting;
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
New instructors must complete industrial first aid/CPR and maintain vocational certification as required by the Washington State Law and Bellingham Technical College rules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in electronics technology, electrical engineering, or a closely related field;
- Two or more years full-time teaching experience at a community or technical college or higher education institution;
- More than three years of industry experience in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field;
- Experience in curriculum and/or course development;
- Experience using online learning platforms and other technology-based instruction;
- Experience in writing and assessing student learning outcomes;
- Industry and teaching experience current with emerging technology in electronics/electrical engineering;
- Experience with student academic advising.
