Executive Director of Enrollment Services
Bellingham Technical College (BTC) invites applications for one full-time professional exempt position as an Executive Director of Enrollment Services. This is an exempt, non-represented position, is Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exempt from overtime and is at-will. This position reports to the Vice President of Student Services and is anticipated to start in September 2023.
BTC is a premier higher education institution working to provide student-centered, high quality professional technical education throughout Whatcom County and is the only technical college serving northwest Washington State. Bellingham rests in the scenic northwest corner of Washington State where the Cascade Mountains meet the Salish Sea.
The Executive Director of Enrollment Services serves as the college registrar and is responsible for the leadership, management, supervision, and vision of the Enrollment Services department. Comprehensive functions for this role include admissions, placement, registration, records, enrollment reporting, credential evaluations, graduation processing, student residency status, and international admissions. This position also responsible for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training/compliance and serves as the college’s FERPA officer., They maintain high quality customer service and coordination through collaborative efforts across the division and the campus while maintaining a welcoming and inclusive campus community for Bellingham Technical College’s diverse student population. The Executive Director must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Executive Director will assist the Vice President of Student Services in planning, designing, implementing and evaluating effective processes and programs. The successful candidate must be organized, flexible, analytical, creative, a self-starter, and be willing to work as a team member within a collaborative, student-first environment.
Required minimum qualifications include: An Associate’s degree with five or more years’ (full-time equivalent) experience in enrollment services, admissions, registration and records, grant management, nonprofit management or similar experience; OR Bachelor’s degree with three or more years’ (full-time equivalent) experience in enrollment services, admissions, registration and records, grant management, nonprofit management or similar experience; Three years’ leadership experience; Demonstrated technology skills in working within databases, spreadsheets, etc., and analyzing data and information to make informed decisions; Demonstrated experience problem solving and using technology to support and streamline processes; Demonstrated experience working effectively alongside and serving people from diverse backgrounds; Demonstrated ability to understand and apply federal, state rules and regulations.
Effective July 1, 2023, salary is $8,077 per month; $96,924 per year.
These position(s) receive 8 hours per month of sick leave, 16 hours per month of vacation leave, 24 hours of personal leave and 12 paid state/college holidays per calendar year. Benefits also include a Washington State insurance package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability; a retirement benefits package, with choice between the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) Plan 3 or the State Board Retirement Plan (SBRP) 401A plan TIAA.
