Bellingham Technical College (BTC) invites applications for one full-time classified position as Program Office Assistant for TRIO Student Support Services.    
 
The role of TRIO is to support first generation students, students from limited income households, and students with disabilities, in order to increase retention and graduation rates. The Program Office Assistant is an integral component of this work and serves as a key member of the TRIO team by providing administrative and program support. 
 
BTC’s TRIO program serves 140 students and assists them in successfully navigating barriers and seizing opportunities to actualize their education and career goals. This is accomplished through intensive support services which include summer orientations, coaching and peer mentoring, a dedicated TRIO lounge, career and academic planning, free 24/7 tutoring, financial aid and scholarship support, opportunities to engage in personal and financial wellness workshops, and cultural activities.

Required minimum qualifications include high school diploma/equivalent, and two years of full-time clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience; Demonstrated ability and commitment to support the success of individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varied academic abilities and social identities; Experience with computer technology, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), and databases; or A combination of experience and training that provides the applicant with the knowledge and skills to perform the job will be considered. 

Salary starts at $3,320 per month ($19.08 per hour). Position also receives sick, personal and vacation leave accruals, paid state holidays, tuition waiver benefits, and a Washington State insurance and retirement benefits package.
