Bensalem Township School District is hiring a Network Support Specialist to directly support the day-to-day operation of an organization's computer systems and networks, such as LANs, WANs, and intranets. Position reports to Network Engineer.
The Network Support Specialist position directly supports the efforts of a team or individual regarding the day-to-day operation of an organization's computer systems and networks, such as LANs, WANs, and intranets. Responsibilities of this position require applicants to be familiar with industry-standard computing hardware and software in order to install and maintain this technology, as well as servers and workstations. Familiarity with relevant networking systems is also required, as these assistants must be able to identify and rectify network communication issues. Applicants must be able to adapt quickly to the organization's existing infrastructures and protocols.
Roles/Job Description:
Ability to work with Network Engineer and or third-party vendors on specific projects
- Maintain physical and virtual server envirionment including
- Physical to virtual migrations (VMware ESXi)
- Windows updates and Group Policy management
- Upgrading from Windows Server 2008 R2 to Server 2016/2019
- Utilizing Veeam for backups
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM
- Creating, Managing and updating our SCCM environment
- Endpoint protection deployment
- Implementing Windows update functionality
- Scripting knowledge a plus
- Knowledge of Mobile Device Management for MacOS & iOS
- Wireless network upgrades and configuration changes
- Physical network switch hardware and software upgrades
- Microsoft Exchange administration including Office 365
- Familiarity with the following network storage technologies: Nimble, HP, Synology
- Security management of VPN and Firewall: Reviewing policies; Implementing new features/functionality as needed
- Administration of Web and Spam Filter technologies
