Canyon Industries, Inc. a worldwide known turbine manufacture in Deming, WA is looking to fill an immediate opening for the following position: Purchasing Agent Job summary: Sources and purchases raw material, hardware, machined parts and/or services necessary for the operation of an organization. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, and maintains necessary records. Responsibilities: -Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies -Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness -Partner with teammates to ensure clear requirements documentation -Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking -Assess, manage and mitigate risks -Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers -Determine quantity and timing of deliveries -Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand -Work sufficiently with teammates from the office and shop -Prepare purchase orders; Provide supplier status on POs as required Requirements: -Proven working experience as purchasing manager, agent or officer -Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management -A knack for negotiation and networking -Working experience of vendor management software -Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures -Solid judgement along with decision making skills -Strong leadership capabilities -Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word -Knowledge of the program Quickbooks is preferred but not required -Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Willingness to learn, and as required to train others Superior craftsmanship, employee pride, and a commitment to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement are the foundation of our success.
