The City of Brockton seeks qualified applicants for the Director of Community Outreach and Communications (DCOC) who is responsible to the Brockton Police Chief or the Acting Police Chief for assistance in the effective management, administration and coordination all community outreach and communication with the media and the general public. The duties and responsibilities of the DCOC are as diverse and wide ranging as the law related needs of municipal government, police agencies, and officers.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Communications, Public Relations, Business, related field or equivalent work experience is required. And graduate degree in Social Work, Public Health, Communications, Public Relations, Business Counseling preferred; 5 years of experience in community and public relations; public speaking and public presentations. Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
Salary: $82,283 to $100,373, position includes medical and other fringe benefits.
