City of Burlington is seeking a hardworking, highly motivated individual to fill this position; perform a variety of hands-on electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC work in the maintenance and repair of City facilities and various City infrastructures. $5,364.43 - $5,540.59 monthly; 40 hours/week, FLSA non-exempt, represented position. High School Diploma and at least five (5) years increasingly responsible supervisory and applicable work experience in the construction trade, specifically HVAC, carpentry, and/or electrical.
This position performs a variety of hands-on electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC work in the maintenance and repair of City facilities and various City infrastructures. Though primarily in the Facility Maintenance Department, this position may be temporarily assigned tasks in other public works departments as part of a team effort. This position performs the duties of the Utility 1 position in addition to the Facilities Lead responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED Required.
- At least five (5) years increasingly responsible supervisory and applicable work experience in the construction trade, specifically HVAC, carpentry, and/or electrical.
- Must possess and maintain a valid minimum Class B Washington State Commercial Driver's License (or the ability to obtain within six (6) months) with a driving record applicable to the City's insurance carrier; a driver's abstract from the Department of Licensing must be provided to the Human Resources Department prior to offer of employment.
- Valid First Aid and CPR cards or ability to obtain prior to the completion of a six (6) month probationary period.
- A valid Washington State Flagger's card or ability to obtain prior to the completion of a six (6) month probationary period.
- Ability to acquire a Washington State herbicide applicator's license within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Ability to acquire basic fork-lift qualification within (12) months of hire.
- Ability to acquire a Blood Borne Pathogens training certificate prior to the completion of a six (6) month probationary period.
