Payroll Accountant - Colorado Mountain College Central Services Glenwood Springs
Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience necessary to meet the rigors of the position, for example, a Bachelor’s Degree and three years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree in a related field and experience in public employment and/or education preferred. Handling high volume payroll in a multi-location environment preferred.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Strong background use of technology including experience with standard Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel. Familiarity with HRIS software such as Colleague/Ellucian and Cornerstone helpful. Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines; perform accurate, detail-oriented calculations, utilize automated software, and prepare financial reports and spreadsheets. Willingness to learn, and ability to research and effectively analyze data. Proficient at balancing a strong focus on details with an understanding of larger college issues and impacts; works independently towards established goals and deadlines. Ability to: read, write, speak and understand English well; read and interpret regulations accurately. Ability to follow directions and complete tasks timely and accurately, and be able to accept supervisory input and constructive criticism. Ability to work in a high-paced environment and manage stress with work under pressure, while multitasking when meeting deadlines.
