Senior Director for Development
Senior Director for Development Full Time Exempt
Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 Annually

Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Senior Director for Development who will be responsible for successfully identifying potential donors, raising significant funds, cultivating donor relations, soliciting gifts and overseeing investments and distribution of funds for various purposes for the College. The Senior Director for Development works within the College's Foundation Office and collaborates with the Director of Resource Development. This position is the most senior-level position working in the Foundation with significant responsibilities in terms of fundraising, capital campaign, stewardship operation and designee responsibilities for the Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA) when needed. The Senior Director for Development reports to the VPIA.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
- Two (2) years of executive administrative and staff supervisory experience in increasingly complex positions;
- Four (4) years in a leadership development role at a nonprofit organization;
- Experience with computerized record keeping systems and knowledge of accounting and budget management processes in a non-profit environment, preferably with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT;
- Experience in development, including major gifts, planned giving and campaigns (fundraising from multiple donor channels);
- Experience in planning, leading and managing development projects, including coordinating with peers to achieve desired outcomes and tracking and reporting on progress to senior managers/board of directors; and
- In-depth computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and proficiency in the use of other office equipment and software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
- Experience working in a higher education setting, preferably at a two year community college setting;
- Previous experience in leading a volunteer board of community leaders, planning and setting strategic direction for fundraising initiatives and complying with governmental and IRS regulations;
- Capital campaign experience;
- Database conversion experience; and
- Familiarity with eastern Washington.
