Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Community Health Center is recruiting a full-time, 40 hours per week Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. This position is split 50% between Everett-South and Everett-North clinics.
The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides comprehensive nutrition services for patients with chronic diseases and for those with a predisposition to chronic diseases. The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist provides prenatal nutritional support services through education and intervention.

Education
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or other related field.
Experience
• Providing nutrition assessment, education and counseling in a primary care/ambulatory care/outpatient clinic (2 years).
• Educating patients/families with basic health strategies to influence health behaviors.
• Healthcare information/database systems experience.
Preferred:
• Working with low income, multi-ethnic populations.
Credentials
• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Dietitian Certification with the State of Washington.
Other
• Driver's license with the State of Washington.
• Motor vehicle insurance liability policy, a certificate of deposit, or a liability bond to the required limits.
Job Specific Functions/Performance Expectations:
1. Provides nutrition assessments for primary care and obstetric patients.
2. Develops and implements nutritional care plans based on assessments and knowledge of chronic disease states.
3. Consults with medical providers regarding nutritional status of patients communicating all pertinent information.
4. Provides group nutrition education classes, as needed.
5. Provides individual patient education visits when appropriate.
6. Works collaboratively with CHC Diabetes Educator to develop effective teaching strategies that are used in group visits.
7. Establishes a mechanism for tracking the effectiveness of patient teaching.
8. Develops and/or selects nutrition education materials for clinic.
9. Conducts nutrition trainings and provides technical assistance for clinic staff.
10. Participates in developing and implementing protocols for nutrition component of clinic services.
11. Serves as a liaison to local WIC program agencies, health department and other community nutrition programs.
12. Performs MSS nutrition assessments on obstetrical clients.
13. Adheres to attendance standards in order to perform the job functions for daily operations and/or continuity of patient care.
