Cask and Schooner, a popular restaurant in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island, WA has temporary full-time openings for hosts. The position pays $12.33/hour and overtime wage of $18/hour, full-time for eight-hour shifts. Time of shifts will vary between 10 am and 10 pm, with some overtime as needed. The period of employment is June 11 through September 30, 2019. Supervise the flow of guests, placement and pace of wait staff and bussers, assure the quality of performance of floor staff, interact with customers, assure the physical condition of the premises, ensure customer satisfaction, make recommendations to management on schedules, troubleshoot problems on the floor with customers, contribute to team atmosphere. Must have excellent communication skills, customer and personal service skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy noisy environment while maintaining excellent demeanor, ability to stand/walk for long periods, professional demeanor and telephone skills, manage being in near continuous contact with others, excellent face-to-face discussions including resolving conflicts, computer skills including point of sales software ability. Must have current valid Washington Food Workers’ Card on or before the first day of work. Three years’ experience. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to San Juan Island will be reimbursed with receipts if the worker completes half of the employment period at the rate of $12.26 per day to a maximum of $51.00 per day. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Return transportation from San Juan Island will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer.
