Job Description:
The Pathways Communications Strategist is responsible for ensuring that communications materials for current and prospective students clearly indicate the range of DCC academic offerings and how they can be connected to career and transfer plans. In collaboration with Admissions and the Office of Academic Affairs, the Pathways Communications Strategist will develop and execute communications to ensure that students can easily explore information about DCC's degree programs, career and transfer pathways, and where and how students might access the college's full complement of advisement and support resources.
The individual in this position will play an integral role in communications and marketing projects that promote Dutchess Community College including printed and electronic communications, events, social media, the website, media relations and advertisements.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and College Communications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Able to conduct research, gather information, and interview students, faculty, and administrators.
- Create and edit content for DCC's newsletters, alumni magazine, strategic plan, website, social media sites, brochures, press releases, crisis communications, community announcements, speeches, advertisements and email correspondence, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, relevance and effectiveness of the content.
- All duties are performed in accordance with established practices and procedures
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook)
- Minimum of two years of communication experience
- Excellent proof-reading skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, managerial and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or related field
- Two years writing publications copy or related activities
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite
- CRM, Slate experience
- CMS experience
Additional Information:
The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site. Flexible hours required; some travel may be necessary.
Administrative positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Dutchess Community College and Dutchess United Educators (DUE).
Salary Range: $59,164 to $61,945
