POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Event Support Worker I to join our team of professionals.
Duties Include:
- Ensures environments meet space configuration(s) required for designated sessions and are maintained.
- Keeps track of furniture as relocated by users, and ensures movable furniture is returned to the appropriate room.
- Reports and documents missing or damaged furniture and OSCE room components to the appropriate departments.
- Assists Simulation Center staff in the set-up, breakdown, clean-up, and storage of simulation equipment.
- Works with HWCOM Facilities Planning & Operations department to ensure room design capacities, life safety codes, proper room configurations set by the design, furniture alignments, and compliance with technical requirements of specific furniture systems are met.
- Monitors all lecture halls, small group study rooms, OSCE's, and simulation training rooms ensuring environments have enough chairs and that the space is presentable for the faculty and students at all times.
- Liaises with the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) space scheduling, Office of Medical Education (OME), Director of Simulation Center, HWCOM Information Technology (IT), and HWCOM Facilities Planning & Operations to ensure flexible HWCOM facilities inclusive of Objective Structured Clinical Examination¿s (OSCE's), simulation sessions, iLearn Lab, seminar/conference rooms and other planned events.
- Assists with data entry for recordkeeping and with special projects or initiatives as needed.
- Supports simulation sessions, OSCEs, training, tours, and events for internal and external groups and/or individuals.
- Assists with scheduling simulation activities and resources in the EMS (Education Management Solutions) software.
- Assists Simulation Center Staff with organizing and restocking supplies and simulation equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of the ninth (9th) grade.
- Valid Florida Driver's License CDL - Class E
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent Organizational Skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to review and understand simple architectural floor plans depicting room seating capacities, alternative furniture configurations, furniture layouts, power and data connectivity, where applicable, to assure the adaptability and mobility of the furniture components.
