Research and Data Repository Manager will manage and preserve the university's research and scholarly output, emphasizing accessibility, discoverability, and sustainability.

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the library's research and data repository activities.
  • Collects, organizes, and digitally archives research, scholarly works including publications and data, and other university content within the IR and Data Repository.
  • Participates in the ongoing identification and curation of content through outreach initiatives in collaboration with departmental liaisons.
  • Works closely with departmental  leadership in developing and refining guidelines on research data practices.
  • Supports publication of peer-reviewed research journals, conferences, and other institutional activities through the IR.
  • Creates, enhances, and maintains metadata for digital objects, adhering to recognized standards such as Dublin Core and FGDC, ensuring comprehensive and accurate metadata, improving discoverability and accessibility of the repositories¿ content.
  • Provides guidance to manage and enable discovery of digital assets and associated metadata in discovery tools, catalogues, archives, and repositories.
  • Supports data literacy programs and initiatives, including trainings on data management practices, file organization, metadata creation, and data documentation.
  • Collaborates on library-wide strategies for long-term preservation of digital materials.
  • Promotes the library repository services to faculty, researchers, and students.
  • Works with the Libraries technical team to update and implement IR and data management technologies.
  • Participates in grant related activities including proposal development and implementation.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field and four (4) years related business or administrative experience, or Master's degree in business or related field and two (2) years related business or administrative experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience independently managing projects in digital collections, data repositories, or other intellectual asset management systems.
  • Knowledge of technical processes such as scripting, coding, digitization, video editing, web publishing, use of AI, etc.
