Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in (a) business or human resource related discipline and two years appropriate personnel experience, general knowledge of employment laws and practices, general knowledge of time and attendance, ability to research new software to streamline processes, excellent computer skills including Excel and database management, excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, effective oral and written communication skills, evidence of a practice of a high level of confidentiality and excellent organizational skills required.
Experience with KRONOS and Banner, and work experience in a union environment or a post-secondary setting preferred.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Human Resource Generalist reports to the Associate Director of Human Resources and performs the following duties:
• Enters time, attendance, and personnel data into system.
• Reviews information to be sent to the payroll office for accuracy and completeness.
• Processes data to be paid out of KRONOS and into the payroll system on a bi-weekly basis.
• Confirms signatures of employees and supervisors on timesheets to be paid.
• Manages usage/accruals to include adjustments for unpaid leave, temporary appointments and retirements.
• Ensures timekeeping is in compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
• Responds to employee concerns on the use of Kronos.
• Provides training on time keeping system to new employees.
• Processes withdrawals for compensatory time and vacation time.
• Monitors vacation usage and health insurance premiums.
• Using system queries, produces routine and specialized reports.
• Researches and resolves problems resulting from inaccurate and/or incomplete information on entry forms submitted by supervisors
• Assists with the implementation of a Performance Management System at the College
• Responsible to research and support College training needs, including new employee orientation, onboarding and compliance training.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Associate Director or Director of Human Resources.
The Salary Range is $45,000-$50,000
