The Division of Student Affairs at James Madison University (JMU) welcomes applications for a unique to JMU staff cohort hire. This hire will consist of four student-facing positions. Positions hired in this cohort will be housed within the Office of Residence Life/Conference Services, the University Career Center, and Office of Orientation and Transition, and Student Life. You will have the opportunity to apply for a single position within the cohort or apply for multiple roles.

The Division of Student Affairs includes University Career Center, Center for Multicultural Student Services, Community Service-Learning, Counseling Center, Dean of Students, Disability Services, Student Accountability & Restorative Practices, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Expression, Orientation and Transition, Residence Life, Student Life, University Health Center, University Recreation and University Unions. The division is an integral part of the campus community and works collaboratively with the other divisions of the university in supporting the mission, vision, and values of the university. Each position will be selected through an innovative practice called cohort hire. The search committee hiring for this position will be selecting candidates for four positions.   • Experience managing student staff or volunteers
  • Commitment to student development

  • Experience utilizing data to drive decision-making
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of constituents
  • Master’s Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree with 1+ years relevant experience
