Athletic Trainer
Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for a full-time Athletic Trainer. Reporting to the Athletic Director, this position is responsible for all aspects of preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating injuries sustained by students participating on one of Jefferson’s intercollegiate athletic teams. The Athletic Trainer will oversee the fitness center including scheduling employees, budget preparation and developing a five-year equipment replacement plan. A flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends is required. Professional staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of appropriate professional experience; National Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) and have, or be eligible for, New York State licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
Preferred: Certification in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer; Certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist; Previous experience as an Athletic Trainer in the college setting.
