Full-charge bookkeeping assistant needed part-time for busy property management / real estate firm, non-smoking office. Must have 5 years full charge bookkeeping experience, including payroll, taxes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations; property management experience a plus. Must have quick data entry skills, be proficient in Excel and QB, and quick to learn new computer programs. Will be responsible for all accounts payable for managed properties, and have good communication skills. Must have a reliable car for making bank deposits. Applicant will also fill in for corporate bookkeeper during absences. Position is up to 35 hours per week from May 1 through September 30 each year, 20 hours per week the rest of the year. Does not include medical benefits. Duties include accounts payable functions, communication with property owners and managers, file organization and upkeep, ability to communicate financial information effectively, tenant receivables, bank reconciliations, deposit auditing, and handling other accounting matters as they are presented. Position also requires the applicant be backup for the corporate bookkeeper. Applicant must have 2-years minimum of full-charge bookkeeping experience, which includes payroll and taxes. This is NOT a trainee position. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, QB, and attention to detail is a must. Personal transportation is required for bank deposits.
