Job Summary:
This position provides 1:1 behavioral intervention services to children with special needs. Behavior Technicians are responsible
for implementing intervention plans and behavioral support programs as directed by the OESD Behavior Specialist.
Responsibilities include student screening, program planning, implementation and recording of data and student progress.
Qualified applicant will hold or obtain certification in a researched based methodology for de-escalation techniques.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Registered Behavior Technician certification or ability to obtain certification.
3. Must obtain training in First Aid and CPR as required by the Agency.
4. Certification in de-escalation methodology.
Required Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
1. Experience with students with disabilities desired.
2. Experience with progress monitoring and data collection systems desired.
3. Demonstrated ability to:
establish an excellent rapport with students with special needs, families, therapists and other District and agency staff
maintain confidentiality
organize and coordinate activities
follow written or verbal instructions
carry out intervention plans and behavior support plans as directed by Behavior Specialist
use a computer
establish and maintain effective working relationships and work as a team member

setting.
5. Must have good human relations and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to keep confidentiality and show initiative
when appropriate.
6. Establishes & maintains interventionist relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity
7. Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction,
and problem solving skills
8. Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding
9. Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired
items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)
10. Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and
interval based recording
11. Follows the intervention plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation
12. Reassessment as appropriate
Required Licenses and/or Certifications:
1. Registered Behavior Technician required.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assists the BCBA in implementing behavioral programming in a 1:1 and small group setting.
2. Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes.
3. Advises and consults with other agency personnel.
4. Know and utilize safe and respectful de-escalation techniques.
5. Participates in professional development.
6. Presents professional development and staff training as assigned.
7. Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.
8. Participates with all other Individualized Education Program team members and other school staff for planning.
9. Attends all staff meetings and student meetings as scheduled.
10. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
11. Observes confidentiality and safeguards all student related information.
12. Immediately reports to OESD Behavior Specialist any patient incidents/variances or complaints.
13. Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned responsibilities.
14. Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy.
15. Demonstrates effective time management skills through daily documentation.
16. Maintains clean and neat work environment.
17. Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
18. Maintains current CPR certification.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
