BASIC FUNCTION:
Perform administrative, operational, and customer service duties; customer accounting liaison; and other general office, special project, and relief duties as required. Primary customer service and account representative for commercial/pleasure moorage customers. Assist as needed in other areas. Responsible for maximum utilization of available moorage facilities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive telephone calls and greet customers; respond to inquiries and provide information regarding operations and procedures. Primary contact for customers regarding facilitation of moorage assignment and account reconciliation. Data entry of customer information into relative accounts using MMS. Setting up appropriate billing for customer accounts. Receive monies and receipt according to harbor procedure. Ensure customer compliance with Harbor Rules and Regulations. Notify manager or other appropriate person(s) of problems that require their attention. Prepare daily bank deposit. Walk docks daily to maintain visibility and become familiar with customers and their boats.
- Prepare and input into MMS Pleasure, Commercial, and Visitor inventories and maintain accurate records of all vessel movements within the harbor. Responsible for performing weekly inventories. Perform meter readings and associated billings to customer accounts. Compare inventories to Marina Management Software to identify billing discrepancies and correct as required.
- Complete customer transactions, verify completeness of the file, and submit moorage application to Harbor Master for approval. Work with Harbor Master in creating and maintaining accurate listings for moorage waiting lists, sublease assignments, and weblocker waiting lists as assigned.
- Reviews customer records, daily cash reconciliation, bi-monthly electrical meter readings, and miscellaneous billing charges and credits to ensure compliance with accounting procedures and verifying for accuracy. Uses MMS to input debits and credits to customer accounts. Perform month-end closing procedures.
- Work with Maintenance Coordinator on all operational issues including work order status, capital project updates.
- Responsible for cleanliness of marina and will perform related duties associated with the harbor standards of customer service.
- Perform operational activities associated with marina duties including but not limited to: vessel impounds, operation of port skiff, placement of containment booms, operate the oil dump, pressure wash, drive forklift, patrol boat launch areas, and perform janitorial duties in the absence of contracted janitorial staff.
- Certification required within 6 months of employment: HAZMAT, FORKLIFT, CPR/AED, Boater’s Safety Card (for skiff operators).
- 24 hour emergency call-out.
- Prepare special reports in a timely fashion as requested.
- Perform light maintenance repairs that a non-skilled handyperson could be expected to perform, not skilled maintenance duties. Or assist maintenance employees with completion of tasks.

Qualifications
- High School graduation or GED required 2. Must have at least two years of customer service experience 3. Must have working knowledge of data entry, Word and Excel software and be able to learn unique marina software 4. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather, lift up to 50 lbs, walk on uneven and slippery surfaces, push, pull, reach, bend, and lift. 5. College level courses in Business or related subjects preferred 6. Marine related work experience preferred 7. Familiarity with boat operations and navigation of local waters strongly preferred

Currently, regular Port employees receive 10 paid holidays per year. PTO accrual rates are increased at regular intervals based on length of Port service. Regular part time employees receive prorated holiday and PTO. Retirement: Regular full time and most part time employees of the Port are mandatory members of the State of Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). Employees and the Port contribute jointly to the plan. The Port also offers a 457 deferred compensation plan for interested employees. Group Insurance: Regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents are covered by medical/dental/life & long-term disability insurance plans. Regular part time regular employees receive a partial benefit package. Premium expenses are shared by the Port and the employee. Employees are covered by the State Industrial Insurance Act. EMPLOYMENT Hours of Work: The normal workweek is 40 hours, Monday through Friday; however, some positions require weekend, shift, holiday and/or overtime work.
