Snohomish Co. Pud is seeking to fill an analyst position in its Rates, Economics, & Energy Risk Management Department. This position performs differing levels of economic evaluation/analysis for supporting the district’s forecasting, rate-making, and energy risk management needs. Duties include but are not limited to data analysis and modeling, policy implementation, project management, and other analytical support in the day-to-day management of the utility’s cost-recovery strategies and near-term power supply and transmission portfolio. Successful candidates will be able to use data and information to assess and understand issues, develop and evaluate options, form logical and accurate conclusions and make recommendations. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to prepare clear, concise and comprehensive written materials which require the preparation and presentation of statistical, graphical and other technical information to a variety of audiences. May also represent the Snohomish Pud on technical and policy-related issues in regional forums, business meetings or before regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
Utility Analyst: Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business, engineering, science or related discipline; valid Washington State driver’s license.
Senior Utility Analyst: Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business, engineering, science or related discipline and minimum of three (3) years performing analytical work; valid Washington State driver’s license.
Senior Rate Analyst: Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business, engineering, science or related discipline and minimum of five (5) years’ experience in conducting quantitative analyses; valid Washington State driver’s license.
Data Scientist: MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Business or Operations Research or related degree AND five (5) years directly related experience applying sophisticated quantitative skills to derive useful information from very large, varied and unconventional and unstructured datasets. OR Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Business or Operations Research or related degree AND eight (8) years directly related experience applying sophisticated quantitative skills to derive useful information from very large, varied and unconventional and unstructured datasets.
