Job Description:
The Digital Media Manager reports to the Executive Director for Communications and will work closely with personnel from all departments of the College in maintaining and expanding the College's digital media, communications and marketing strategies across SUNY Orange's social media platforms, website and other digital communications systems. The Digital Media Manager's primary roles will be to oversee the SUNY Orange website (working with identified web content providers from various departments) and maintain/monitor the College's social media platforms to assure the College has a strong and responsive online voice and identity. The successful candidate will create, edit and/or approve content for the website, and will assure the site meets all WCAG accessibility standards. The Digital Media Manager will also be tasked with expanding audience engagement through the use of social media, analytics, and emerging technologies. The Digital Media Manager will be relied upon for technical skills, knowledge and judgment related to the latest digital media and marketing strategies and tools. In addition to contributing as an effective member of the Communications team, the Digital Media Manager will be expected to work independently and to cultivate relationships across the College community in order to assess institutional needs, develop and maintain high-quality and consistent messaging, identify and implement innovative digital technology solutions, and ensure the timeliness of all digital communications. The Digital Media Manager will greatly influence the College's digital marketing efforts, will oversee on-campus digital communications tools and contribute to the effective use of the MySUNYOrange student/employee portal. Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience in digital media content management, website/social media management, marketing, communications or brand strategy/implementation.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
- Bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, marketing, public relations or a related field
- Master's degree in related field
- Five (5) years of experience in directing/coordinating digital media content creation and deployment for web, social media, marketing and communications within a higher education environment.
- Experience in strategic audience engagement through social media, web analytics, web content and SEO
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, WCAG standards (for digital accessibility)
- Proven knowledge of website analytics software (Google preferred), Content Management Systems (Modern Campus knowledge a plus) and portal software (Unifyed knowledge a plus)
- Demonstrated experience in creating or designing content (images/video/graphics/text) for the web and social media, as well as a background in writing for digital marketing and printed publications.
- Knowledge of the community college sector, preferably with an understanding of the SUNY system.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and an ability to effectively establish and maintain productive/effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, College employees and students, and the general public
- Ability to manage multiple projects

Salary: $49,711-65,866 per annum. Commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 50, 12 month position.
