Alternate Product Administrator
The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper, is actively seeking an Alternate Product Administrator in the Circulation department to interface between outside companies and our company. This individual will serve as the conduit between alternate product entities (Wall Street Journal, TNT, China Daily, NY Times, etc.) to seamlessly communicate business logistics. Maintaining accurate and timely posting of transactions, and auditing throughout the process, are vital administrative functions of this role. As a blend between customer service, product support, and administration, the successful applicant will be able to work closely with multiple teams, intersecting with Home Delivery, customer service, and outside stakeholders with ease.
Responsibilities
- Receive, retrieve, translate and enter alternate product transaction information via e-mail and enter into Salesforce Alternate Product Region (APR). Enter starts/stops into our customer database.
- Maintain data hygiene by performing daily audit of APR subscriber records and comparing them with those of the alternate product’s subscriber records to ensure files match.
- Notify Customer Service Manager when files are divergent and take appropriate steps to remedy the situation.
- Work with the designated alternate product liaisons within each alternate product company to realize superb customer service and maintain an efficient and accurate Salesforce Alternate Product Region
- Research daily lists received of potential alternate product company customers to determine if The Seattle Times can service the address.
- Work closely with Customer Relations Router Team to ensure timely routing of new potential alternate product addresses.
- Develop and maintain Key Indicator Report for various alternate product transactions, including number of transactions, number of audits and % compliance, etc.
- Provide alternate product support to Home Delivery (i.e. researching account history, providing database cleanup, etc.) as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Strong clerical background (six months to two years data entry and/or other customer service/support background). Working knowledge of the Circulation Department preferred.
- Education: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Two-year college degree preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce, or other similar platforms.
- Strong PC skills: Knowledge of MS Office applications (e-mail, Word Excel) and Circulation data system (Salesforce, NES) strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of routing and transportation systems preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must possess the ability to maintain high accuracy under deadline pressures.
- Must be proficient and accurate in data entry (minimum keyboard speed of 35 wpm).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to problem solve individually and within a team.
Schedule
Shift cycle alternates periodically between Saturday through Wednesday, and Monday through Friday. Must be able and willing to have alternating shifts during those times.
This role requires union-mandated dues be paid by the employee.
