Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant supports the departments of Engineering and Computer Science in the Roy Nutt Mathematics, Engineering & Computer Science Center at Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut. This position provides administrative and clerical support to the faculty members and students of both departments. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong organizational, attention to detail, and computer skills.
The Administrative Assistant
- Provides administrative and operational support for the departments of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Acts as first point of contact for these departments, answering questions, providing information, or directing inquiries to appropriate individuals.
- Takes accurate, detailed meeting minutes and disseminates them in a timely manner.
- Coordinates departmental workflow, scheduling, planning, and travel for meetings, specific departmental events, programs, and seminars.
- Maintains expenditures via spreadsheets, monitors budgets, coordinates purchases of office supplies, and facilitates resolution of office, department and building maintenance requests and issues with appropriate parties.
- Provides support for course management, including course scheduling and College Bulletin course listings.
- Monitors and maintains records of student attainment of program requirements.
- Provides support for faculty recruitment, promotion, reappointment, and retirement/resignation.
- Collects, monitors, and analyzes diverse sets of ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) assessment data using word processing, spreadsheets, and similar software.
- Prepares and maintains ABET accreditation self-studies and performs tasks to maintain accreditation.
- Updates departmental websites with pertinent information.

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or the equivalent and three years related experience required, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Higher education experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is essential; ability to obtain proficiency with other software tools, as required.
