Operations & Training Officer
Operations and Training Officer - Public Safety (Emergency Management Agency) Union County Public Safety is currently accepting applications for the position of Operations and Training Officer. This position is a 40-hour workweek and requires on call 24/7 for emergency response. Must have an Associate Degree in Emergency Services supplemented by 3 years of progressively responsible experience in emergency services response or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities of the job. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's license. Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and unusual hours as necessary and have the ability to be onsite at an incident within 30 minutes. Knowledge in developing comprehensive plans, compliance with local, state and Federal rules, regulations and standards of Hazardous Materials, coordination of training and exercises, grants, understanding of incident command (ICS/NIMS) and emergency management is preferred. Must be willing to possess and maintain certifications. Respond to emergencies and/or disaster situations which could involve hazardous materials, a pandemic, and inclement weather and other incidents of critical significance. Applicant must be customer service orientated, work with various agencies and the public and have the ability to multi-task and handle high level stress during an emergency. Prepare various forms, reports, and documentation. Assist with development of policies, procedures and guidelines and conduct and/or schedule various training within the County. Utilization of various office equipment and emergency response equipment, as needed. Applicant must possess computer skills and utilize various computer programs, such as word, excel, powerpoint, and publisher.
