ROLE of the POSITION
The Senior Director of Alumni Engagement will have a deep understanding of constituent engagement and philanthropy used to manage the comprehensive alumni engagement efforts on behalf of the Office of Alumni Engagement. This position is designed to be the link between the University, the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (PAE), and the UNLV Alumni Association to our 133,000 plus Alumni and students.
The Sr. Director will report directly to the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Alumni Engagement and Executive Director of the UNLV Alumni Association and will supervise the Associate Director for Programs and Events, the Coordinator for Programs and Events, and the AAIII (Front Desk/Reception). This position will serve as the number two to the AVP for Alumni Engagement and will represent in the AVP’s absence at divisional and campus events and programs as well as community events when necessary.
The position will develop, manage, and execute programs and events to facilitate lifelong dialogue between the University and its constituents (including prospective and current students) to increase alumni participation and giving. Examples of programs and events under the leadership of the Sr. Director for Alumni Engagement included (but are not limited to) establishing a student philanthropy program, establishing an alumni in admissions program, the UNLV Foundation Annual Dinner, Rebel Homecoming, Regional Alumni Engagement Events, Donor Recognition events, UNLV Alumni Association events and programs, and others as determined by the AVP or Divisional Leadership.
The position will work in partnership with the AVP to develop and manage an overall budget (cash and in-kind) split between funds from the UNLV Foundation and the UNLV Alumni Association all used to promote overall alumni and donor engagement with UNLV.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in alumni engagement, event planning and production, higher education leadership, or related fields. This position requires a minimum of three years of management experience and evidence of experience working in and with a culturally diverse community.
A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university is preferred.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
