Project Associate - University Advancement
University Advancement’s Office of Engagement (OOE) seeks an energetic, analytical, and organized Project Associate on our fast-paced team to increase involvement and giving from UVA alumni, families, and friends. The Project Associate is responsible for creating recipient lists, demographic reports, and outcome measurement data. Reporting to the Director for Direct Marketing, the Project Associate assists all OOE programs, including Annual Giving, Lifetime Learning, Travel, and UVA Clubs. The Project Associate will liaison with the Advancement Operations’ Business Intelligence team, participating in training, meetings, and cross-training opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Support the data reporting needs for all OOE programs, including segmented data specifications and identification of testing opportunities for all projects
- Provide data and deliver timely reports for internal strategic decision-making and external communication, which may include monthly, quarterly and annual reports for OOE and partners, demographic snapshots, white papers, trip planners, and event briefing documents
- Execute accurate and complex data lists (approximately 400+ a year) for Office of Engagement projects
- Maintain data governance standards for all engagement programs and ensure information security and privacy standards are met
- Keep abreast of engagement and annual giving reporting trends within higher education, benchmarking other institutions and organizations for best practices in data analysis and reporting
- Participate in the Data Community of Practice, CRM conversion meetings, Office of Engagement, Business Intelligence and University Advancement meetings, events, and programs as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with at least two years of experience. Experience as an intern or volunteer may qualify
- Proficient in computer applications, working knowledge of relational database and software programs, especially SQL and Tableau
- Ability to navigate database systems and analyze information using critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills, and strong customer service to meet deadlines
- Ability to analyze and present information, evaluate data sets, and communicate impact
- Manage projects independently or as part of a team, from inception through implementation

UVA Advancement offers a flexible and hybrid workplace. Depending on the type of position and work performed, or as deemed by manager, some positions may be required to work intermittently in a shared office space located in Charlottesville, Virginia. This position may work from anywhere, with the expectation of being in Charlottesville twice a year at UVA’s expense.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: Two years of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
