The Senior Financial Analyst position is responsible for core financial planning and reporting processes used as a basis for strategic funding decisions at Western Kentucky University. This includes short-term and long-term financial planning, financial modeling, and financial data analysis. The position reports to the Executive Director of Budget, Financial Planning under the division of Strategy, Operations, and Finance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop planning models to analyze financial impact of operational changes, new program/department creation, strategic hiring plans, and fluctuations in expenditures, capital projects, and other financial scenarios
- Responsible for maximizing data available to University management and optimizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems
- Prepare and review financial projections of outcomes, including analysis of budgetary and financial compliance
- Create and maintain multi-year financial forecasts and plans
- Assist campus departments to utilize WKU's budget management tool, Axiom, to produce requested financial reports
- Supports the office of Budget & Financial planning to complete legislative data requests
- Ad hoc requests as needed by the AVP of Budget and the Executive Vice President or divisional leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a financial analysis or planning role
Pay Band: 9 Salary Range: $50,000 - $58,000
