About the Position:
Serving the entire University campus community this position is responsible for performing moves, adds, and changes to the University's data, voice, and CATV networks.
Typical duties include:
- Installing equipment and network cabling
- Maintaining documentation
- Troubleshooting
- Maintaining uninterruptible power supplies (UPS),
- Assisting with planning and documentation of the institution's copper and fiber optic infrastructure
- Quality assurance
Required Qualifications:
- Experience and/or education, relevant to the position, that meets or exceeds one of the following:
- A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field combined with any amount of relevant work experience; or
- An associate's degree or professional certification in a related field plus two or more years of relevant work experience; or
- Five or more years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to demonstrate experience as an effective communicator with a diverse variety of clients, such as university students, faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrable experience working well as a member of a team with these attributes:
- Customer service orientation.
- Values attention to detail.
- Utilizes good time management skills.
- Collaborative problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience with Cisco Systems network hardware and software.
- Cisco training and/or certifications. (e.g. CCENT, CCNA)
- BICSI training and/or certifications. (e.g. RCDD)
Salary:
New hires typically begin at $5,171 per month, including an excellent benefits package.
Bargaining Unit:
This position is part of bargaining unit PT and is covered by the collective bargaining agreement with Public School Employees of WWU.
