Administrative Services Manager B
Through diligent management of employees, finances, operations and hiring actions, the Administrative Services Manager B ensures that faculty, staff and students have the support and resources they need to succeed. The Administrative Services Manager B is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing all administrative services for the department while exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority. The Administrative Services Manager B is the department’s Budget Authority, forecasting revenue and expenditures for all departmental budgets, reconciling budget report expenses, ensuring the department does not overcommit resources while also working to spend available funds before expiration, and processing all purchase requests from faculty and staff.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree plus one year of related full-time administrative and/or supervisory experience or 5 years of administrative and/or supervisory experience.
- Commitment to supporting the department’s efforts to create an inclusive, supporting and welcoming environment for students, staff, and faculty.
- Commitment to fostering and maintaining a student-centered, outward-facing office environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a friendly, cooperative and professional work environment with a wide variety of staff, faculty, students and community members.
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
- Willingness to manage multiple simultaneous time-sensitive pressures amidst frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated excellence and clarity in verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new software/computer systems.
- Willingness to adapt to changes in workflow processes and policies.
- Willingness to learn duties related to budgeting.
- Willingness to delegate responsibilities and tasks and to rely on and develop the strengths of the staff.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proven ability to perform assigned work activities of the position.
