Director for Business and Finance: The Director for Business and Finance develops and implements policies and procedures for fiscal and financial accounting functions within the college generally and the Business Office specifically. The position has ultimate supervisory responsibility for the Business Office operations, plus institution-wide responsibility for budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, purchasing, cashiering, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant reporting, federal and state audits and reporting, motor pool, agency assets, and financial data processing. The Director for Business and Finance reports directly to the Vice President for Administrative Services. Project Director for TRIO Upward Bound: The Project Director will provide oversight and direction for this US Department of Education sponsors program at Whatcom Community College participating high schools, Futures NW, and business industry partners. Reporting to the Director for Student Success and Retention, the Project Director will supervise UB staff, monitor budget expenditures, conduct program reviews, and report program progress to WCC administrators and stakeholders. This position works closely with the Student Services Division leadership team, including K-12 Partnerships, Student Success and Retention, Academic Advising and Career Services, Entry Services, Financial Aid, and Student Life and Development. The Project Director ensures programs, services, and activities operate in accordance with the college's mission, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements. This position leads and promotes meaningful student and faculty engagement while building an inclusive and vibrant community at WCC. Student Completion Coach: The Student Completion Coach is responsible for direct service and systems coordination to advance student retention and degree/certificate completion. The position provides advising and coaching to underrepresented and marginalized students, including connecting them to career development and academic planning, academic support, and financial resources.
