Description

The Digital Printing Operator Lead (Class Code 206I) reports to the Copy Center Manager and provides copy, bindery, and technical support to copy center customers while offering guidance and direction to part time and student employees. In addition, this position will provide back-up coverage for the mail center as needed. Work schedule generally follows a Monday through Thursday, 10AM to 7PM, Friday 8AM to 5PM shift.

Job Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Receive and prioritize and fill orders for copy work.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance for all the machines in the department.
  • Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of part-time and student employees; train and assist others in copy machine operation.
  • Maintain inventory of paper and copier supplies.
  • Perform duties of Copy Machine Operator.
  • Maintain evening hour operations of the copy center, ensure excellent customer service to staff and clients accessing copy services, assist customers with questions/recommendations regarding finished copy products.
  • Provide back-up coverage for the mail center.
  • Learn various software programs used for processing copy center orders and troubleshooting customer files.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications, Salary and Appointment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or GED certificate
AND
  • Six months of experience in office machine operation, or equivalent. 
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of Digital Printing Operator Lead including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking a large portion of the shift.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with production/bindery equipment.
  • Experience in a community college/higher education environment.
  • Understand and effectively communicate written and verbal instructions.
  • A good understanding of applicable standards to establish and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Develops innovative ideas that provide solution to all types of workplace challenges and brings ideas to supervisor.
  • Understands importance of sustainable practices and participates in departmental recycling efforts.

Salary and working Conditions:
  • Range 32, full-time salary starting at $2,536 per month with periodic increments to $3,272 per month. Position's shift is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically Monday through Thursday, 10AM to 7PM, Friday 8AM to 5PM. Office conditions include standing/walking a large portion of the shift and require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Description

Whatcom Community College invites applications for a Grant Project Coordinator-Health Grants position. The Grant Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting two health professions grant projects,  project implementation, employer and economic development engagement, monitoring of progress toward project goals, marketing, data tracking and reporting. The project coordinator reports directly to the Associate Dean for Health Professions and will work collaboratively with the project lead, division chair, faculty, and industry partners to achieve grant outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Work with project lead to identify and track timelines, goals, and processes for project implementation; monitor progress toward project goals.
  • Coordinate with Medical Assistant (MA), Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) and Nursing program coordinator/director and faculty, industry partners, and grant project staff to development of continuing education opportunities and create stackable certificates.
  • Coordinate subject matter experts and employers to provide input to course content.
  • Facilitate convening of focus groups and meetings with industry to explore professional development needs.
  • Research and arrange for faculty development opportunities in collaboration with MA and SUDP program coordinators, Nursing program director and division chair.
  • Coordinate the development of peer counselor training curriculum by appropriate faculty with SME input.
  • Provide information for reporting purposes.

 

Qualifications, Salary and Appointment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two years working in an office environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in coordinating projects with internal and external partners.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working in higher education.
Performance Expectations
The successful candidate will exhibit the following characteristics:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively under aggressive deadlines.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with faculty, staff and industry partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
Salary and Appointment: 
  • This is a 50% Administrative/Exempt position through June 30th, 2020, with potential for continuation based on grant funding and satisfactory performance. Exempt from Washington State civil service law with an annual salary of $22,500-$23,500 based upon 50% of a full-time annual salary of $45,000 - $47,000.
