Director for Transitional Learning Programs and WorkFirst: This position provides leadership and management for Transitional Learning Programs and the WorkFirst Program in structure, priorities and activities to maximize student success and achievement. The director coordinates with academic support, student services, workforce programs and community resources to meet diverse student needs. The director is responsible for key administrative and budgetary aspects of multiple state and federal grants. The director reports directly to the Vice President of Instruction (VPI) and provides direct supervision of program staff and assigned faculty. For full job description click here

Associate Director for Transitional Learning Programs: This position provides daily oversight for Whatcom Community College's High School Completion (HS21+) and Youth Reengagement Dual Credit Program (Open Doors). Open Doors is a youth reengagement program providing access to high school completion and college courses for students between 16-21 who are no longer attending high school or significantly credit deficient. Whatcom's Open Doors Program operates in partnership with local school districts and in coordination with Bellingham Technical College. The Associate Director coordinates with the student navigators/advisors, the Program Coordinator, student services, and campus and community resources to meet the diverse student needs. Upward Bound Summer Academy Instructors: Summer Academy courses are high school-level courses that prepare Upward Bound participants for college.
