Whatcom Community College invites applications for a part-time, adjunct faculty position to teach in the Math department. Applicants from the adjunct pool will be considered when there is a departmental need to hire a new adjunct faculty member.
Job Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Develop, prepare, and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course outcomes and class schedules.
  • Maintain office hours for student consultation at times and places convenient to students, and respond to student requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications, Salary and Appointment
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in mathematics or a closely related field with strong mathematics preparation required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching mathematics.
  • Commitment to excellence and quality in mathematics instruction.
  • Ability to inspire a diverse student population to enjoy learning math and achieve their highest potential.
  • Experience with instructional technology.

Whatcom Community College's Office of Student Life and Development invites applications for a PT Support Assistant position.  The Support Assistant will work directly with the Director, Associate Director, and Coordinator for Student Life and Development to provide administrative office support and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and the public.
Job Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide excellent customer service in a friendly, approachable, and culturally responsive manner to all guests by responding to questions, providing campus tours and orientations, and creating student IDs at the front desk.
  • Provide administrative support for student life programs including student leadership, activities programming, and student clubs.  Duties may include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating or maintaining spreadsheets, and filing.
  • In the absence of the Coordinator for Student Life and Development, assist and support the Student Ambassador team with front desk operations.
  • Triage and direct patron inquiries appropriately. Thoroughly and efficiently gather information and inquiries, and compassionately educate current and prospective students about Office of Student Life and Development programs and opportunities for growth and development.
  • Create and maintain file systems for various processes.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and workshops. Adhere to and comply with both OSLD and campus policies and procedures.
  • Administer equipment check out procedures and assist with maintaining inventory.
  • Be on time and work scheduled shifts.
  • Participate and practice safety, risk management, and mandatory reporter procedures. Immediately report injuries and incidents to OSLD Coordinator and/or Director for Student Life and Development.
  • Assist with tasks and other assigned duties as needed.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience working in an office setting.
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
