Whatcom Community College invites applications for the Student Technology Help Desk Staff position. Student Help Desk staff work at the Student Access Lab in Heiner Center and are responsible for lab supervision and for providing help desk support to WCC students. WCC classes make use of a range of technology for their face-to-face, online and hybrid classes. The College provides a student technology help desk to answer questions about access to course management systems, use of online resources, student email, and common software used by students. Successful candidates will work directly with students in person, over the phone and through email. The Student Help Desk also assists students with their computer questions, helping them with their Windows 10, Microsoft Office and printing questions. In addition, they are responsible for checking out equipment provided by the college to students and staff. Applicants should be very comfortable with technology and be able to adapt to new systems and technologies quickly. The work schedule will follow the academic calendar

- Respond to telephone and email messages for students seeking technical assistance.
- Documents, tracks and monitors problems by way of ticketing system.
- Maintain security of the labs and enforce Whatcom Community College Policies and Procedures.
- Provide lab information such as hours of operation, forms and equipment use.
- Perform equipment checkout for students and staff.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks such as cleaning surfaces, monitors, keyboards, computer mice, 3D printers, laser printers, and standing kiosks.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows 10.
- Previous Customer Service experience.
- Technical Support experience.
- Ability to operate office machinery such as computers, printers, fax machines, scanners and Makerbot 3D printers.
- Familiarity with Canvas.
- Proficiency with internet, email, websites, and file management.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of the team.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- This is a part-time, hourly, non-permanent position. Salary will range from $12.00-$15.00 per hour, dependent upon experience. The anticipated hours are 17 per week (hours may vary). Physical ability to maneuver around the computer lab, including working under desks is required.

Whatcom Community College invites applications for a Program Assistant in Copy Services (Class Code 107M). The Program Assistant reports to the Copy Center Manager and provides copy, bindery, and technical support to our copy center customers and also performs specialized technical/clerical duties in support of the copy and mail centers. Work schedule generally follows a Monday through Thursday, 10AM to 7PM, Friday 8AM to 5PM shift.
- Job Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Receive, prioritize, and fulfill complex work orders.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance for all the machines in the department.
- Provide excellent customer service to all copy/mail center users.
- May order, receive and maintain inventory for both copy and mail centers.
- Maintain evening hour operations of the copy center, ensure excellent customer service to staff and clients accessing copy services, and assist customers with questions/recommendations regarding finished copy products.
- Establish and maintain records relating to the program operations.
- Maintain records and prepare billing for services rendered.
- Generate purchase orders, maintain and monitor budget and inform supervisor of status.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Two years of full-time clerical, customer service, copy center or similar experience.
- Equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the Program Assistant including safely lifting up to 50 pounds and standing/walking a large portion of the shift.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency and computer skills needed for processing copy center orders, fixing customer files and creating/maintaining spreadsheets for reports.
- Experience with production/bindery equipment.
- Clerical duties and maintain records relating to both the copy and mail center.
- Familiar with desktop publishing software.
- Ability to make the best use of available time and resources.
- A good understanding of applicable standards to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
- Experience in a community college/higher education environment.
- Understand and effectively communicate written and verbal instructions.
- Develops innovative ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges and brings ideas to supervisor.

- Range 35, full-time salary starting at $2,717 per month with periodic increments to $3,511 per month. Work schedule generally follows a Monday through Thursday, 10AM to 7PM, Friday 8AM to 5PM shift.
