POSITION DESCRIPTION
Whatcom Community College invites applications for a temporary Program Assistant (Class Code 107M) in the College's Human Resources Office. The Human Resources Program Assistant contributes to a variety of Human Resources functions and provides support to the Human Resources Office. This is a classified, non-permanent position that will end June 30, 2018.  This recruitment is open to ALL qualified applicants

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
May include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide professional HR customer service and expertise.  Direct inquiries regarding a variety of HR functions including recruiting, benefits, contracts, and leave to the appropriate person. 
  • Serve as main reception and answer phones for the HR office. 
  • Oversee new employee paperwork for temporary and student employees. This includes the completion of W-4/I-9 forms and providing HR policy guidance as needed. 
  • Process new employee information into college payroll and HR systems.
  • Assist with leave records.
  • Provide support in recruiting tasks including: Processing applications and scheduling interviews.
  • Perform HR record-keeping tasks, which include intake and processing HR forms.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and reports on employee data.
  • Assist payroll with timesheets; calculation and processing
  • Provide assistance with staff evaluation tracking. 
  • Other related duties and special projects as assigned. 
  • Requires punctual and regular attendance.
